Located in Wales, NGD is one of Europe’s largest data center campus including an existing 72MW facility and 108MW of expansion capacity.

We acquired a controlling position in the business in 2016 from the founders and other minority investors with the view to support the management in significantly accelerating  the growth of the business.

During our holding period, NGD’s business developed exponentially, addressing the demand of global hyperscale customers, large enterprises and HPC clients, resulting in the contracted IT load capacity being multiplied by more than 10x in four years. Building upon the strong entrepreneurial culture of the founders, the company focused on developing corporate processes supporting the construction new capacity at industrial scale and the provision of first-class customer service. We have invested approximately EUR 140 million in new infrastructure capacity and connectivity (including a Meet-me Room in London), and embarked in the development of a data center campus, planning additional buildings on its land and power banks.  NGD has become a reference in the European data center industry, a core utility of the 21st century.

We exited the investment in 2020 after having completed this first cycle of hyper-growth.
