helloFiber rolls out state of the art fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks in underserved areas of the country and offers under the ‘helloFiber’ brand superfast broadband connectivity.
The company is a 50:50 Joint Venture between Liberty Global and InfraVia Capital Partners.
Germany remains substantially underinvested and lags behind other European countries in terms of fiber deployment, and it is our ambition to help bridging that digital divide. Our long-term conviction is that fiber represents the best-suited technology to meet the ever-increasing data usage and at a lower carbon cost than other technologies. The expansion of the fibre optic network is considered one of the most urgent infrastructure projects in order to advance the competitiveness of Germany as a business location and the modernization of the country.
We have invested in 2021 with a view to leverage our investment capacity and leading expertise in digital infrastructure investments to support the platform’s expansion. It is also our ambition to open up to further investment opportunities as we gain scale, using a modular and pragmatic investment approach. Having operated Unitymedia for a decade, Liberty Global brings extensive experience of the German market to the JV.
