Over the past decade, infrastructure funds have been able to identify new sectors of investment that were out of scope for the asset class in the 2000s. Active GPs have demonstrated an ability to increase the transactional opportunity by identifying new sectors while staying loyal to the underlying infrastructure thesis, and therefore capturing an early-mover premium.
